About Us
The South East Queensland Blokart Club (SEQBC) is based at Woodgate, a coastal town on the Fraser Coast, Australia. Woodgate is a comfortable 4hr drive from the Brisbane Airport and a very comfortable 50 minute drive from Bundaberg Airport.
We are a group of land sailing enthusiasts offering a friendly family atmosphere to the introduction of landsailing. The club sails regularly every second week depending on tide and wind, with an average sailing day from 10am to 4pm.
As our name suggests, Blokarts are the karts we all sail, they are compact, able to be dismantled quickly and fit in the boot of a small vehicle.
Depending on the wind direction, sailors can landsail on the 1.1 to 2km stretch of beach on the northern side of town and 4 to 6km on the southern beach depending on the wind.
The club has a relatively small membership, but is well represented at club, State, National and World events.
Landsailing is growing in popularity. SEQBC provides training at no cost so you are comfortable in your kart, knowing the sailing rules, tips at setting up your kart and sail set..
The Club at present has two of its own Blokarts for learners, after obtaining a restricted club membership where you can sail for two, 2 hour sessions. If you wish to further your involvement with the sport, you are able to apply for membership of the club.
All SEQBC sailors have a $50,000,000 Public Liability Insurance for your protection.
South East Queensland Blokart Club stages a marathon every November with competitors attending from around the country, a true spectacle of landsailing at its best.
More information on club sailing days and land sailing in general will be detailed on this website.
